I’ve been waiting for a bit to write this post and it’s going to be a long one (you’ve been warned). My last post (in April!!!) was about the addition we wanted to do to our home.Read More
Hi everyone! As I'm sure you've seen by the lack of posts I've been completely MIA the last year or so. Real estate has been CRAZY busy (which is a blessing) and I've put all of my effort into it. But at the same time, I've done so much work the last few years that I didn't have much else to do, or do I?Read More
Well hello everyone!!!! Long time no blog post! It has been the craziest year and a half! As most of you know, I became a real estate agent in March of 2016. Since then, things have been a whirlwind. I've been very blessed to be extremely busy but with being busy comes sacrifices and, unfortunately, the blog was the sacrifice. Luckily, I have figured out how to manage the business and have found time to start blogging again.Read More
I know what you are thinking - why are you thinking about your deck - finish your master bedroom!!! I am, I am, I promise!
The truth is, when we decided to stay in the house I knew the deck had to be redone. It's my favorite part of the home and something I've wanted to tackle for years. After all - when we bought this mess of a house 7 years ago it was because of the decks and the view. The rooms were a bit small, the playroom was an odd shape and the finish out was terrible. But the view. The view was (and is) amazing. And, after all of this time, I never get tired of the view. I spend at least some part of my day - every day - on the back deck.Read More
I have a confession to make - I listed my house for sale 2 weeks ago. I fell in love with a house I showed my clients and convinced myself (and family) we needed to move. I got to work wrapping up projects so we could list it. Everything was finished, we took pics and put it on the market. The first 2 showings received incredible feedback from the buyers and both were interested in buying it. Instead of getting excited, I felt a little bummed.Read More
Hi all! For those of you who follow me on Facebook, you may remember seeing this...
You see, I've been so busy with real estate and, quite frankly, was so burned by Lubbock that I just didn't have it in me to DIY. I decided that I needed to finish projects but didn't have the "want" to do it. So I decided to hire a GC. They were installing the crown in my half bath and redoing my stairs. Total cost: $550. Not cheap, but better than doing it myself.Read More
Well... we all knew that was coming, right? Those who have been around from the beginning and saw the drama from the start knew we were going down the flop road. Let's recap, shall we?
We bought the house from my cousin (my great-uncle had been living there, but it was vacant when we purchased it).Read More
Hi everyone! Wow... it's been over two months since I've written a post. TWO MONTHS! Full disclosure: I haven't been able to bring myself to write a post because everything at the house just took a severe dive. It's been a nightmare.Read More
Yes, it's a problem. Every time I visit the flip house I think "ok. no more. We can move forward." And then I walk around and see little things here and there. This week, it was a bit bigger "thing". When we did the furr down for the duct work, the framer put a hole in the wall.Read More
It's no secret that I've been super busy with the flip house, studying for my real estate license and, most importantly, being a wife and mom, but did you know that in all of the chaos I managed to shoot my first ever TV segment? Oh yeah... the chick who doesn't do YouTube tutorials/videos because of that little bit of shyness still inside, hopped on television for a segment. Sounds about right for me, huh?Read More
Hi all! When I headed to the flip house the first time, I actually took video! Can you believe it?? Now, almost a month later, I have finally uploaded the video to YouTube so you can all get a look inside the home. Enjoy!Read More
Hi all! I just returned back from our flip house and wow.
We officially closed on the house on 1/5/16. Because the home was my cousin's we were able to do a bit of demo prior to closing. Thank goodness! We knocked quite a bit out the week before Christmas and then things just stalled. Between Christmas and New Years, I knew we were in for delays. What I didn't expect was a freak blizzard that shut the city down for a week! It was the craziest thing! And what happens when a city gets shut down for a week? All construction gets pushed back for two weeks. Ugh.Read More
