Front Entry Refresh

I have my laptop back!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!! Man... people always say they miss their cell phones when they don't have them but me? I miss my laptop!

Things have been super crazy at work lately. We are wrapping up Phase 1 of the commercial remodel we are doing and that's when all of the craziness happens. Luckily, we are almost there and ready to start Phase 2. I'm so excited!

I haven't had much time to work on the house because when the hubs is off, I usually have to take off to Dallas (3 hours north). Last weekend, though, we were able to wrap a couple of little projects at the front entry. If you don't remember, here is what the entry has looked like the first few years.

Just your typical Austin stone facade home. We've never loved the stone but dealt with it because we love our home. Besides, you can always change it up a bit, right?

The first thing I did was build the Versailles Planters for the front windows.

I love these planters! Two years old and holding up like a champ!

The next thing I did was build a Juliet balcony. I guess the little girl in me hasn't completely grown up. My rRmeo even but them up for me!

We decided to get rid of the modernesque lights and go with old school traditional lighting.

And that's about as far as I've gotten. Here is where we are now:

And the side-by-side:

Don't you love how I am so lazy I didn't even move the water hose????? I'm telling you, I've been swamped!

So what's left? I'm making either a flower box or a "hood" over the front door. I haven't decided. We need to landscape the front gardens and will be doing that in the next couple of weeks since it's the best time of the year for it. I'm planning to put a couple of upright trees under the lights to give it more of a French feel. A friend made me a great burlap wreath and I will be picking it up this weekend. And that will probably be it for this year. We started a path on the right side that we will wrap. Maybe. You never know around here. ;-)
